Bera was founded in 1974 by a community of psychologists, sociologists, action researchers..The aim of the Association is to sustain and promote a vital research culture in education.

This paper is an insight surveyed by the British Educational Research Association concerning the laps in the British educational system but including a global vision of the problem. The main topics tackled in this insight are evidence-based and led to these fundamental questions: Can schools alone promote better outcomes for their students? How can parents and local communities help? Is more fundamental reform required?
